“I love creating art that connects us to a feeling — whether it’s a past memory or a point in time that offers hope for the future, art connects us to each other.”
Westerville-based oil painter Janine Crum creates introspective works emphasizing the connection between the emotional and physical landscape.
Merging her interests in mental health awareness with the stormy skies of the Midwest, she has been able to capture a wide range of emotions in her beautiful, expressive landscapes.
Janine’s work on hope and hardship has been featured in various online and print capacities and in local and national juried exhibitions.
She is also the recent recipient of Westerville’s Emerging Artist of the Year award, Greater Columbus Arts Council Professional Artist Grants, Ohio Arts Council Teach Arts Ohio Grants, and is the co-founder and director of Daylight Artist Collective, an artist-supported studio space and gallery located in the heart of Uptown Westerville.
